Why I Support BTS Even Though I Dont Like Their Music By Midori By The Sea ILLUMINATION

Don’t listen to BTS but I do love me some KPOP, as long as Asian brothers are getting some positive press I’m happy regardless of their image. Why I went from hating on BTS to defending them and why I think as Asian males, we should all do the same. Maybe your experience though is different because it’s only NYC. But I have experienced this in other cities such as Miami, London, LA, Madrid and it’s the same treatment I notice. High value Asian men is still a tier below all the other races unfortunately.

As a result, lots of local Chinese men are beginning to marry Russian, Ukraine, Afracians females. It is starting to be more balanced in terms of interracial marriages. In the US, a typical topic is do Asian girls prefer Asian guys or white guys? In China, the question is now becoming would a Chinese man prefers a Chinese girl or a foreign girl.

As mentioned in the article, older manly actors are still desired by Asia. In this case, we can say that Asians are more open-minded towards different beauty standards. Imagine China becomes the world’s most powerful country tomorrow. Chinese men have the most status but all of them look like Ken Jeong.

Among U.S. cohabiters, 18% have a partner of a different race or ethnicity

What was supposed to be a one-hour coffee date had evolved into a nine-hour marathon. From discussing the five love languages during dinner to telling stories about our exes at Coit Tower, we didn’t even notice that we had traversed four San Francisco neighborhoods and logged 10,000 steps. Other actors like Dev Patel or Bruce Lee have also helped to contest the Western ideal of toxic masculinity. With the rising popularity of k-pop groups like BTS and success stories like the academy award win for Parasite , hallyu, the Korean wave, has flooded the Western world. However, our Western concept of masculinity is changing and toxic masculinity finds itself challenged. In East-Asian countries though, this form of masculinity has nothin to do with sexual orientation.

Asian men are not convinced, that traditional masculinity is “owned” by the west. Statements are never backed up by any sources or references and there are many errors in reasoning. The authors wrongly equate attractiveness with masculinity. The rise of the popularity of K-Pop, especially BTS, in Western countries has triggered a heavy debate about the best Asian representation. Thank you for your time and effort in putting this together 😊 I couldn’t stop laughing and giggling as i was reading through the list because… I found someone who I can not stop thinking about … yep still blushing here.

I’m going to share and discuss my thoughts and experiences growing up in Germany, covering Asian Identity, Racism and more. If Asian would be the ideal beauty standard, non-Asians who look average will definitely loose to a Ken Jeong. Attraction is a confluence of look, money, power and also race. I wouldn’t argue, that the west have girly looking artists. But just want to say that there is also a wide spectrum of Asian mal entertainers. Western media is the biggest role in Asian women’s perception of Asian men.

Girls are starting to recognize beauty standards for Asian men, they can tell if an Asian guy is 10/10 looking for his ethnicity, they don’t find him ugly just because he looks very different from Brad Pitt. BECAUSE of this differing standard of beauty, its caused a ton spicer dating reviews of people to be woke when it comes to appearance, especially regarding Asian men. People don’t see Jungkook and find him ugly just because he isn’t a 6 feet buff blonde dude. And wanted to provide some more input as someone who’s life is heavily influenced by BTS.

I think it’s a great idea to support Asian males in the sports and entertainment industry and social media influencer scene, but obviously only those who are representing Asian males in a positive light. For example, I have my reservations on Ken Jeong, Jimmy Yang and Bobby Lee whose characters perpetuate negative AM stereotypes. However, I don’t think it’s necessary for us to pivot Asian males away from entering the STEM field. We should look at our intelligence and hard work ethics as positive traits. Similar to how African American males see their athleticism and assertiveness as a plus. Instead, we should encourage our STEM brothers to be more active, more social, and more confident.

Intermarriage has risen dramatically at all education levels for blacks, with the biggest proportional increases occurring among those with the least education. In 1980, just 5% of black newlyweds with a high school diploma or less had intermarried – a number that has since tripled. Rates of intermarriage have more than doubled at higher education levels, from 7% among those with some college experience and 8% among those with a bachelor’s degree. When I see like an Asian Male doing well in entertainment, fitness, fashion, or as an influencer I get so damn proud because I know it’s very tough for us to be in those position. Like I would want donate or invest my money in that person because I know overall he’s making an impact for us Asian Males to be viewed in a better light.
